Our studio grew out of Maurel Press originated in 1955 by artists magic Sheila and Ary Marbain. It opened as a custom screen printing shop specializing in printing with contemporary artists. echo johnson pics sheila had studied art at black mountain college in north carolina with joseph albers, ilya bolotowsky and william dekooning from 1948 pics and magic through 1950. ary had worked and exhibited as a painter in france for many years. after the sudden death of ary marbain in 1963, the studio was closed for a year. sheila then decided to modernize echo johnson pics the workshop and introduce screen photography along with a new vacuume printing table. our studio reopened on 23rd street in manhattan. with an assistant, sheila plunged into printing three dimensional pics objects. magic a plexiglass airship for johnson & johnson acuvue toric contact lens lichtenstein, an oldenburg soft drum set, a set of dominoes with fahlstrom, and a large fabric banner with marisol were some of the editions. bronze is an alloy of copper with other metals that modify its hardness, color, and ability to be cast into a detailed mold. when bronze is cast it is usually a gold color. after the casting and finishing is completed, the surface is often treated with chemicals and heat which patinates pics the metal, coloring it green, brown, black, or a combination of the colors. foundries magic usually apply waxes or other coatings to the surface of a patinated outdoor bronze to protect it from pollutants. this wax may wear off in time. we recommend annual maintenance by a professional conservator. the surface of the sculpture may be washed to remove pollutants and dirt, and waxed. if done annually, the rate of corrosion will be retarded johnson (though not totally eliminated), pics and disfiguring rain streaks will be minimized. i collect twentieth-century furniture. how can i best preserve it? some twentieth-century furniture was created from non-traditional materials, such as foam, plastic, and cardboard.
